Online Prescribing Policy

All patients receiving telehealth services administered through Marula Rehab

 

1. Policy Overview

Marula LLC does not directly prescribe medications through its telehealth platform. Our services focus on behavioral health, educational instruction, relapse recovery, and substance use disorder support. When prescription treatment is clinically indicated, patients will be referred to their primary care provider (PCP) or another licensed prescriber for evaluation and management.

 

2. Referral for Prescription Treatment

If a Marula Rehab provider determines that medication may be beneficial to your treatment plan, you will receive:

A written referral to your PCP or prescribing clinician

A summary of your telehealth assessment and clinical recommendations

Support in coordinating care, including release of information forms if needed

Marula LLC does not guarantee medication access and does not manage prescription renewals, prior authorizations, or pharmacy communications.

 

3. Controlled Substances & DEA Compliance

Marula LLC does not prescribe or facilitate the prescribing of controlled substances, including but not limited to:

Buprenorphine

Benzodiazepines

Stimulants

Opioid analgesics

 

All prescribing decisions are deferred to licensed providers who meet DEA registration requirements and comply with the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act and 2025 DEA telemedicine prescribing rules.

 

4. Geographic & Jurisdictional Limitations

Referrals for prescription treatment are limited to patients physically located in Utah at the time of service. Marula LLC does not coordinate prescription care across state lines unless the receiving provider is duly licensed in the patient’s jurisdiction.

 

5. Privacy & Data Sharing

All referrals and communications with external providers are conducted in accordance with HIPAA. Patients must sign a Release of Information (ROI) form before Marula LLC shares any clinical data with their PCP or prescribing provider.
